The “Kingston Latino Community Cultural Map” aims to compile the Hispanic & Latin American themed art and cultural resources in Kingston, including: culture & art practitioners, cultural entrepreneurs/businesses, events/festivals, traditions, and stories. By identifying these cultural assets, recording them and organizing them in this map, we aim to promote established and emerging artists/cultural entrepreneurs, business owners, and diverse community groups in Kingston, while providing organized information to the broader Kingston community and future visitors and residents.
This project has been made possible with the kind support of OPIRG Kingston, and Kingston Latino community members. If you would like to be included in the map under one of the current categories: Food, Arts & Crafts, Music, Dance, Events & Festival, and Languages, please kindly submit the following information:
El “Mapa Cultural de la Comunidad de Kingston Latino” busca compilar los recursos artísticos y culturales de temática hispana o Latinoamericana en Kingston, incluyendo: profesionales del arte y la cultura, emprendedores o empresas culturales, eventos/festivales, tradiciones, e historias. Al identificar, registrar y organizar estos recursos en el mapa, nuestro objetivo es promover el trabajo de artistas y emprendedores culturales, dueños de negocios, y diversos grupos comunitarios, tanto nuevos como ya establecidos en Kingston, y a la vez proveer información organizada para la comunidad en general y futuros visitantes y residentes.
Este proyecto ha sido posible gracias al apoyo de OPIRG Kingston y miembros de la comunidad de Kingston Latino.
